2007 marks a year full of great beginnings, especially for those of us who enjoy the arts in Gilroy, California, the southernmost city in Santa Clara County—also known as "The Garlic Capitol of the World."
In 2006 the city of Gilroy invited local artists and arts groups to explore the formation of a larger alliance of artists who might have a single voice in addressing the arts needs of the community.
After several meetings, this new community collaboration evolved into the group you see today, The Gilroy Arts Alliance, consisting of actively creative people from our community just like you.
Our vision is to build a thriving arts community—expanding public arts awareness and appreciation, making Gilroy an exciting arts destination that will enhance and support the essential opening of the cultural center in 2009.
